St Andrews Hotel, Fitzroy Website
Serving up a beautiful online presence for an old but new hotel.
The history and story behind this stunning venue is a great one and we were happy to be a part of the new journey this hotel was about to embark on. With huge renovations underway, a new name being brainstormed and a brand refresh in progress meant a new website was needed to reflect the new direction of this old but new hotel.
The St Andrews Hotel, Fitzroy was formerly known as The Pumphouse Hotel, which was formerly known as the Hawkins St Andrews Hotel back when it was established in 1854.
In the late 1800’s a fire tore through the building and it wasn’t until the early 1900’s that
it was rebuilt and renamed as just the St Andrews Hotel, leaving out the Hawkins name. In the late 1980’s the hotel was fully renovated and renamed as The Pumphouse Hotel, which is how it stayed for some 35 years.
In 2018 the owners embarked on a huge renovation for the hotel, which unveiled the opportunity to take the hotel back to its roots and rename it to its earlier name. Settling on the new but old name of the St Andrews Hotel and wrapping up the renovations meant it was time for the website to undergo a long awaited update.
The website was designed with clean lines and plenty of white space to allow for the photography to tell the full story and entice users to visit the hotel.
We streamlined the user experience, simplifying the navigation and layout for ease of use, and, of course, focused on the mobile journey first.
