The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Memorabilia website was the official auction site for the GC18 memorabilia and official sporting attire worn and used by the athletes during the games. With only a few short weeks to meet deadline and strict brand guidelines to follow, the site proved to be a huge success with thousands of visitors.
Fox & Lee were tasked with ensuring the brand, logo, supporting graphics, colours and imagery used were not only in-line with the brand, but clearly communicated the correct messaging while working across all devices.
The Gold Coast Commonwealth Games corporate head office not only had specific requirements for the front end design, but strict guidelines on the backend security and entire shopping experience when visitors were placing bids. The site was thoroughly tested by Fox & Lee under rigorous quality control measures and successfully launched with consumers bidding and purchasing memorabilia products within the day.
After the launch of the website; 28,850 unique users (over a three-week period) had visited the website. The site performed exceedingly well and remained fast with quick load time and live updates, with high amounts of traffic.
Numerous video tutorials were recorded and uploaded into the backend of the website, which were created for the client and technical team running the auctions. This was a huge success as the client was able to self-mange the website with ease and found the videos extremely valuable for all staff involved on their end.
The website was only live for a short period of time during the course of the games and for 2 weeks after the closing ceremony.
