The official auction site for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Memorabilia.
The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Memorabilia website had a short deadline with a few hurdles, but well worth the ride. The site was to be the official auction site for the GC18 memorabilia and official sporting attire worn and used by the athletes. After memorising the strict guidelines and preparing the information architecture, we got our running shoes on sat down to our computers.
Using strict brand guidelines supplied by the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, we were able to design a clean website optimised for user experience, allowing visitors to find and bid on products they were after.
Fox & Lee were tasked in ensuring the brand, logo, supporting graphics, colours and imagery used were not only in-line with the brand, but clearly communicated the correct messaging while working across all devices.
The Gold Coast Commonwealth Games not only had requirements for the front end design to be perfect, but strict guidelines on the backend security that we successfully implemented and thoroughly tested. The site was successfully launched and consumers started bidding and purchasing memorabilia products within the day.
After the launch of the website; 28,850 unique users (over a three-week period) had visited the website. The website had performed exceedingly well and managed very well with the high amounts of traffic.
Numerous video tutorials were recorded and uploaded into the backend of the website, which were created for the client on how to manage the website. This was a huge success as the client was able to self-mange the website with ease and found the videos extremely valuable for all staff involved on their end.
The website was only live for a short period of time during the course of the games and for 2 weeks after the closing ceremony.
